New Look makes a loss in France

NewLook.com the UK clothes retailer has reported a mixed set of results today. Its loss making French shops helped to make a £55m loss.

In the UK, and other worldwide destinations, sales were up by a healthy margin, meaning that many women and men still buy their clothes at the chain of high street shops.

They report that they plan to open 10 new stores in China, 100% more than the current number in that country. NewLook.com also plan to expand internationally to Germany and Poland, where there is a large demand for overseas shopping especially fashion and clothing.

They also plan to drive more internet sales especially internationally and New Look worldwide delivery to many countries around the world, including free international delivery over a certain spend.

“We see an opportunity to grab more space. There are a number of cities where we have smaller stores, where we could do with bigger stores,” Kristiansen, New Look’s CEO said. “We believe in being in smaller cities because it drives e-commerce business.”
