The latest flu infection to come from China is spreading around the world, and whilst we don’t wish to scare anyone, it is obviously of concern to people who may come into contact with it. As many shoppers around the world purchase from China, shops such as Alibaba.com, AliExpress.com and others it is worth asking if it is safe to buy goods from this oriental country.

Many online shoppers, from all over the world, have already asked this question prior to the Coronavirus, our answer to this is here: Is it safe to buy from China.

But let’s take a minute to look at the latest situation.

Official advice

The official advice from the World Health Organisation (https://www.who.int/) is that:

“The new coronavirus is a respiratory virus which spreads primarily through contact with an infected person through respiratory droplets generated when a person, for example, coughs or sneezes, or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose.”

The WHO

As purchasing some goods from China will involve the item being sent through the mail to your country, a purchaser will not come in contact with anyone from China, let alone someone who is infected with the virus, therefore I think we can safely say that it is safe to order and buy stuff from China from overseas.

Conclusion

It is safe to order from China despite the novel Coronavirus
