Grocery shops & supermarkets offering senior shopping hours in the USA during the Coronavirus. Here is our list taken from announcements on social media or the shop’s own website.
As senior citizens are more vulnerable during this time, many shops are offering dedicated shopping hours for older aged or elderly people, and people with other health related issues which might leave them vulnerable.
Information for Walmart is that senior shopping hours will be on Tuesdays. Walmart’s message reads
“We know our older customers could be more vulnerable to the coronavirus and to better support them, Walmart is offering special shopping hours. From March 24 through April 28, Walmart stores will host an hour-long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers aged 60 and older. This will start one hour before the store opens. Our Pharmacies and Vision Centers will also be open during this time.”
Exclusive Warehouse Hours For Members Over 60 Years Old or Those With Physical Disabilities
Starting March 24, members aged 60 years and older or those with physical disabilities will be able to shop from 8 – 9 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice. Only members meeting this criteria will be allowed to enter the warehouse and guests will not be admitted.
Please note: The pharmacy will also open at 8 AM but the food court will remain closed until normal business hours. These hours do not apply to Business Centers, which will remain open their regular hours.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, ALDI stores will open at 8:30 a.m. and reserve the first hour of business for vulnerable shoppers. This includes senior citizens, expectant mothers and those with underlying health concerns. pic.twitter.com/Omjxe8GUI9

We’ll also reserve the first hour of shopping each Wednesday to support vulnerable guests, including the elderly and those with underlying health concerns. Please visit Target.com to find your local store opening time.
At Trader Joe’s we pride ourselves on treating all of our customers equitably. Over the past few weeks we have heard from our senior customers about the need for assistance in the morning to get in and out of our stores quickly. We’ve listened, and effective Monday March 23rd we will implement the following:
Store hours will remain 9AM to 7PM. Every day between 9AM and 10AM, Crew Members will maintain an additional line outside the front door for our senior customers. This will ensure that those customers in need will have an expedited entrance to the store to help make their experience a more positive one.
