Amazon has made some changes to their Super Saver Shipping offer in the UK. It is not certain, at this stage, what effects this will have on Amazon Global International Shipping, if any.
The world’s largest internet retailer has told customers that they must spend a minimum of £10, or buy at least one product from the list of qualifying products, which include books, DVDs, video games and software, to qualify for free UK delivery.
As of the present date, Amazon’s Super Saver Shipping in the UK is subject to a minimum £10 spend on books, or a minimum spend of £20 on all other qualifying products.
How do I get free Super Saver Delivery from Amazon?
- Place Super Saver Delivery eligible items in your Shopping Basket, as per minimum spend requirements.
- Proceed to Amazon checkout.
- Select the FREE Super Saver Delivery option as delivery method. The delivery time for FREE Super Saver Delivery orders is 3 to 5 business days after dispatch.
- Select “Group my items into as few deliveries as possible” as your delivery preference.
- Place your order and complete checkout.
Items purchased that are ineligible for Super Saver Delivery will still incur a delivery fee.
Is there a Super Saver Delivery trick?
If you have added items that do not meet the minimum spend for free delivery at Amazon, then sometimes it is worth buying a small, cheap item to make up the total to above the threshold. This way you can qualify for free shipping. For instance if you are 40p short of £20 it is worth adding a filler item because otherwise you may have to spend, say, £4.49 on delivery

Amazon Global‘s free international shipping offers vary by country but the minimum spend eligibility is always based upon a USD value. This means that usually you have to spend a minimum of about $49 to qualify, but this will be quoted in the foreign currency.
You will need to select the FREE AmazonGlobal Standard Shipping option during checkout, and be shipping to an eligible country, of which there are now about 120 countries.

This change does not affect Amazon Prime, where UK buyers can get their domestic delivery charges removed (free delivery) if they pay a £79 per year fee, or $119 USD ($12.99 per month) if you are in the USA and want free Amazon shipping.
Amazon Prime is the surest way of getting free shipping from Amazon.
